Ante el Capitán don Ignacio Cortés de Vargas, Alcalde Mayor en este partido, pareció don Tomás Francisco, natural de este pueblo, e hizo manifestación de un hierro para herrar algunas bestias mulares y caballares que ha recibido de limosna para la cofradía del Santo Cristo, que los naturales tienen fundada en este pueblo de Orizaba; el dicho alcalde lo dio por manifestado y mandó el uso de dicho hierro.
